"Love does not alter the beloved, it alters itself."
-Soren Kierkegaard
It's all happened to us at some point or another. Whether in a mall, a restaurant, a park, it doesn't matter. The premise is the same. You're busy doing whatever it is you're doing, eating, reading, shopping, and you hear a sound that makes your stomach knot up. "DADDY!? MOMMY!!??" These words are interrupted only by intermittent shrieks and cries from someone who's barely as tall as your waist. He or she is lost and wants nothing but to find a familiar face. Nine times out of ten that parent is just around the corner, honing in on the location from which the screams are coming. It's only a matter of moments before that little girl or boy is scooped up in the arms of a relieved parent who is less concerned with the possible disobedience of the wandering child as with the fact that he or she is safe. Sometimes, however, that child has wandered so far away that she is found by a store employee or a caring person who can aid the helpless child back into the safety of a parent.
Life is so similar to the shopping mall or restaurant. We are all so similar to that little boy or girl. From early on in life, whether we realize it or not, we're wandering. It may be a while before we admit it to ourselves that we're off the path. Inwardly or outwardly, we begin crying out for help. We need direction, purpose, hope, and healing from the wounds that life has dealt us. Thankfully, our Father is listening to us and seeking us out. God is eagerly awaiting a blissful reunion with each child who has wandered off. Sometimes, however, because of circumstances and situations, or even our own weaknesses, we can't seem to get back in the right department of the store. We need help, and guidance; we need a caring person. River of Life exists to act as that caring person in our difficult world today. We believe all of us are that wandering child and that God so desperately wants to reconnect us with Himself. We're all seeking to help each other through our weaknesses in order to continually make that blissful reunion with our Father as we continually struggle to not wander off. This doesn't mean telling others what to do, or letting them know how bad they've messed up, because we're still messing up quite often. It just means establishing a community of faith that seeks to live out Jesus' command to love God and those around us. So, in our love for each other, and for the world around us, we hope to be representatives of that loving Father, and humbly guide one another and all who are longing back to Him. That's River of Life.

Real people, in our own community, sharing the journey of faith together. Leading simple lives as we seek to motivated by love. We're from this greater Sanford community, and so we care about it. Please let us know how we can better be a contributing part of this community, how we can better serve you and therefore, better serve our God. Jesus Christ is our example, and He acted as the greatest Servant of all.
